The Whyalla Cycling Club together with
McLeods Whyalla Motor Company is pleased to present the 2008/09 Track
season "McLeods Point Series". We hope that by introducing the
point series we can offer both competitors and spectators a fresh,
exciting and competitive season, filled with personal bests and
individual improvement.Riders
will be awarded points on a weekly basis over a four-week period for the
duration of the season, at the conclusion of the fourth week the points
from each grade will be tallied and the winners of each grade will be
presented prize money on the following Friday night.
The guidelines for the series are as
follows:
-
Each rider will be
awarded an automatic 5 points for every race night they compete in,
this will be on top of any points awarded during the night for
placings. Therefore meaning consistency can be just as valuable as
actual placings.
-
The points for
individual races will be awarded on a 3,2,1 structure. With the
first rider to cross the line taking the maximum 3 points, two for
second and one for third. in the case of a teams event
(pursuit or otherwise) each rider on the winning team will be
awarded a maximum of 2 points and the other team, 1 point.
-
If two grades have
to be combined for a race night (if numbers are low), the points
will be awarded with the first rider in each grade (regardless of
overall placing) receiving the maximum 3 points, the second 2 and
the third 1.
-
As the number of
races often varies from each week it is important that you make
every effort to attend on a weekly basis. Remembering that merely
competing assures you an initial 5 points.
-
Points can and
will be deducted by the commissaries if a riders actions during and
even after the race are deemed dangerous or do not comply with the
clubs racing code of conduct.
